The mission of WeClimb is to use rock climbing as a tool to help underserved youth become better versions of themselves and to increase diversity in the climbing world.

Despite the fact that more people today are climbing than ever before, only 1.5% of USA Climbing members identify as African American. Through our programming, we hope to change this statistic and provide a safe space for people of all backgrounds to come together and enjoy climbing.

School Programs

As climbing grows in popularity, schools across the globe are offering climbing as a competitive interscholastic sport. WeClimb wants to establish and develop climbing teams at schools to remove barriers for youth to enter into the sport. Beginning with Chattanooga Prep School, we will be partnering with schools throughout Hamilton County to establish rock climbing teams.

Climbing has a profound impact on our mental, social, physical and emotional wellbeing. WeClimb mentors work with youth to take them climbing and use climbing as a tool for personal development and fostering healthy relationships. If you know of a youth who would enjoy our programming or would like to volunteer as a mentor, please check out our mentoring page.

Workshops and Events

Climbing is a highly technical sport that requires specialized skills, technique, and equipment. WeClimb offers educational workshops and clinics to introduce people from underrepresented communities to climbing in an approachable and meaningful way. Keep an eye on our social media and events page to learn more about upcoming workshops and events.
